The Aurora Conquest IM6 5/6w - 8 foot rod is Aurora's entry level rod that has a SRP of only AU$131.00 This rod has broken the price / performance barrier, for ever and includes a 5 year warrantry.

To date, 26th April 2002, the longest cast has been 32 metres / 104.96 feet, however this was a non qualifying cast, just think of the distance you could obtain with their other higher modulus rods and you will soon understand why casting Champions are changing to Aurora.

You may not be a Champion caster but if you are like me, you want the best performance possible with your rod. An AU$131.00 fly rod that can cast 32 metres / 104.96 feet would have been only a dream 5 years ago.

On the 14th April, 2002 the first Leveller Event was held at the Maroochydore Yacht Club, Queensland, Australia.

The Event was held in conjunction with the presentation of awards of the Sunshine Coast's Saltwater Flyfishers Longtail Tuna Chase Tournament.

Weather, 29 degrees, overcast,wind 15 knots at 45 degrees to the casters shoulder.

Of the 60 plus competitors who took place in the exciting Fly Fish,only, Tuna Tournament only 15 casters were willing to show their capabilities, notable missing persons were a number of 'gun' casters. Why ?

The best cast and winner of the Aurora Conquest 5/6w - 8 foot rod, Conquest fly reel and Talon 6w - WF - F fly line was Jackson Marrs from South Maroochydore, Queensland.

The runner - up was Paul Meneely of Yeronga,Queensland, Pauls only been fly casting for 3 years and treated some of the 'names' to a how to lesson.
