Cortland LC-13 Lead Core Line weighs around 13.5 gr/foot and has a breaking strength of 28pound. When buying a line for your rod the line weight will not necessarily match the rod's suggested weight.

T 14, 14grains per foot

In general, match the rod's weight with DoubleTaper lines. With Weight Forward lines, step up at least one and sometimes two line sizes with WF lines. For 30' Shooting Heads when using a plastic coated running line like the Talon Running Line, step up three line sizes when using 30' Shooting Heads with a monofilament running line.

With D/T's and W/F's you may have noticed with better caster's they use the line or a size 1 less than the suggested on the rod, because they are using the rod more.
